Slync planning guide

What should you decide before building a mobile app?

Identify the tasks that require an app, the devices your audience uses and what must work offline. Prototype the most important workflow before deciding between platform-specific and shared implementation approaches.

Which features need device integration?

List camera, location, notifications and background tasks separately. Test the riskiest integration early on the actual target devices. A shared interface does not remove platform-specific permission and lifecycle work.

What happens when the connection disappears?

Define which information can be read offline, which changes can be queued and how conflicts are resolved after reconnection. Show pending and failed states so users do not mistake a local action for a completed server transaction.

Before you start

  • Define the smallest end-to-end task worth releasing.
  • Document loading, offline, denied-permission and error states.
  • Separate interface state from data access and business rules.
  • Plan device testing, release ownership and support after launch.
